A month in the warm climes close to the equator will soon be the experience of the fortunate members of the Glee Club who started yesterday morning for Panama. The men left over the Pennsylvania railroad for New York and will sail from there tomorrow. They will arrive at [illegible] on December 23 and wil be entertained over Christmas by the officials and their families.
Richard McClanahan and James Henning have been added to the original selection made up of Barker, Riley, Eastwood and Moser. McClanahan will act as leader and pianist, while Henning will favor the audience with selections on the violin.
The State Department is paying all the expenses of the trip, while in return the sextet will put on twelve concerts before the different clubs of the canal zone. The first will be given at Balboa Heights. The men will then travel to the Pacific coast of the zone, working under the direction of the Bureau of Clubs and Playgrounds.
The men will return to New York about January 13 and will furnish the Elks Club with a concert on January 17. The men expect to return to Evanston and their studies on January 13th.
